The conflict with the Zull had been over for more than a decade, but many questions regarding their intentions remained. The Imperial Navy, with their hyperlight speed ships, patrolled the sector of the galaxy known as the demilitarized zone. To aid them in the protection of the Earth Empire, a huge automated guardian fortress stood vigilant in space in order to protect half of the galaxy. Using fantastically advanced technology, this fortress proved to be a major deterrent against the Zull and their quest for power. Developing new technology and new weapons could be the only hope in keeping the Imperial earth Empire one step ahead of the Zull Collective.
With the discovery of the new element Solarium, a race began for its source on the planet Marlon. Soon the Earth colonists, Marines, and a new unexpected ally would find themselves locked in a life and death struggle against a merciless and savage enemy. Poorly equipped and greatly outnumbered these humans would pit their intellect and skills against the Zull in a pitched battle for survival.
However, the enemy had put in place a master plan that would guarantee them seizing not only Marlon, but the entire Imperial Earth Empire. The conquering Zull would neutralize the fortress, capture the pride of the Imperial fleet and destroy the colony with its humans.
Against incredible odds, the stardestroyer Cole with this unproven new micro jump technology puts itself between Marlon and the entire Zull fleet in a last-ditch effort to prevent the capture of the planet. Meanwhile, colonists and Marines fight hand-to-hand against a determined and fanatical enemy on the planet’s surface. With the fortress out of action and defenseless, the Zull fleet pours across the demilitarized zone in a frenzied dash to consolidate their gains and secure the Solarium. The fate of not only the Greater Earth Empire, but the existence of the human race hangs in the balance.

Excellent Story, I enjoyed it from start to finish...I only wish there was a sequel.

The Moons of Marlon They came without warning eBook Chris Whitman Reviews

A friend recommended this book for me so I gave it a try. Great storytelling, just the right amount of drama and very vivid, memorable characters. Mr Whitman writes with authority. I couldn't put it down.
A detailed account of a tale that didn't bore in its telling.
The characters were well defined. The individual stories combined into a nice read. More to come hopefully.
The spine of this novel is robust enough, but it is clothed in tattered flesh. Misspellings, typos, failed punctuation abound. The villains are constructed of moldy pasteboard, and the heroes, in a phrase the author appears to cherish, are fit for "recruitment" posters. Sex blossoms perfervidly across the ranks. I find it a marvelous irony that this adolescent projection of male fantasy provides a compelling argument for gender segregation in combat troops. Female ensigns consort with their ships' captains ( I didn't read this altogether closely --why bother?-- but my sense is that most of the silly relationships depicted here involve subordinate women becoming involved with men of senior rank). The author also seems to have rather too prurient an interest in scenes involving rape. There're many of them. Need I add that, as in Lake Woebegone, all the women are beautiful, and the reader is treated frequently to lascivious descriptions of their "curves." Much of this fails to rise to the level of pulp fiction.

In short, this author desperately needs to find a competent editor. He might also consider trying to find female readers (who don't subscribe to the Southern Baptist Convention), who will, ideally point out how offensive much of this is.

There's hope here, I think. As I said above, the plot is sturdy enough, but the writing is, well, mediocre.
Found some spelling errors as well as syntax errors. Other than that it was entertaining.
Excellent Story, I enjoyed it from start to finish...I only wish there was a sequel.
