"Rhymes For Our Times" brings together a truly delightful combination of bizarre headlines and news items from the public press, with commentary in inventive rhymes that would please Ogden Nash or W S Gilbert. Many of these rhymes for our times are reminiscent of Mencken at his most cynical. These are the kinds of morceaux that one sometimes sees at the foot of columns in the New Yorker, but done in brief rhymes that can take one's breath away. A wonderful book to read, put down, and come back to over and over again. This is genuinely witty stuff!
